INSTRON Multi-Axis Shaking Table (MAST)
MAST systems are designed for vibration testing of a wide range of specimens. Vibration input can be generated in up to six degrees of freedom (6-DOF), individually or simultaneously: three translational axes (vertical, lateral, longitudinal) and three rotational axes (roll, pitch, yaw). In the real world components rarely experience vibration along a single axis, so reproducing the combined motion in the laboratory evaluates performance far more realistically. MAST systems are used for durability, performance and squeak and rattle applications, which is especially important in automotive development.
