Learn moreSpectrometer-goniometer for precise determination of optical data of prisms (internal angles, refractive index)

The SG1800 spectrometer-goniometer is a measuring device for precisely determining the optical data of prisms. From the measured reflection and transmission angles, the internal angles of a prism or the refractive index of its material can be determined. The observing telescope is steplessly adjustable, has a reticle eyepiece and a vernier reading accuracy of 1 arc minute. Collimator and telescope have a focal length of 178 mm and a clear aperture of 32 mm. The prism is made of flint glass (60°) with a dispersion angle of 2°; the collimator has a symmetrical precision slit of hardened steel.
