Taber Abraser 1700

Since the 1930s the Taber Abraser has been the world standard for accelerated wear testing of plastics, coatings, laminates, leather, paper, ceramics, carpets, safety glazing and other materials. A flat specimen (round or square, about 100 mm) is mounted on a rotating turntable and two abrasive wheels produce a characteristic pattern of crossed arcs over an area of about 30 cm²; a vacuum system removes debris during the test. Model 1700 has a single turntable; touch-screen interface, speeds of 60 and 72 rpm, standard wheel load of 250 g (500 or 1000 g with auxiliary weights).
