Taber Multi-Media Abraser 5500

The Taber Multi-Media Abraser provides a reproducible method of measuring the relative abrasiveness of most fluids, powders, pastes and semi-solids. It is used together with the Taber Rotary Abraser. The medium flows in a dish with a replaceable stainless-steel wear disc between three replaceable brass pins turning in the opposite direction; the resulting wear indicates the abrasiveness. Standard pin load is 250-1000 g (in 250 g steps), up to 2500 g with optional weights; pin speed is changed with colour-coded gears. Note: Taber no longer sells this model.
