Taber Multi-Finger Scratch / Mar Tester 710

The Model 710 measures the resistance of a surface to scratching, marring, gouging and scraping. A pneumatically driven platform carries the specimen linearly while five independent fingers apply a constant vertical load to the test tips; weights are 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 15 and 20 N. Specimens up to 22 mm thick; supplied with five 1.0 mm hemispherical scratch tips and 7.0 mm mar tips made of tungsten carbide.
